Classic tents from the North American Wilderness. Simple roomy tents that were popular both among the North American hunters as among the units of the American Calvary from the beginning of the 19th century until the thirties. BAKER 1853 - Even though there are many disputations about the origin of this construction, we classify this type of tent to the end of the 19 th century. WHELEN 1925 - The author of this tent is Colonel Townsend Whelen. The tent dates back to 1925. Some sources indicate as the authentic producer of these tents the firm Abercrombie and Fitch. Front wall consists of two canvases. The divided canvas serves for closing of the tent or for extending of sidewalls. Undivided tarpaulin can be used for making of front roofed space. In case of strong face wind or cold it is possible to improve thermal insulation of the tent by folding down this canvas. Fabric of sidewalls overhangs approximately 20 cm inside and stops flowing of the cold air in. Loops at the lower edge of the tent serve for anchoring to the ground, laces at the perimeter for fastening to the frame. Strings at the divided front side serve for closing of the tent. Accessories and tent poles are not included. These items you can order separately. Material: Tents and canvases are made of fabric impregnated against mildew and rot.
